I just made a Sangria Punch with ridiculously ripe strawberries that’s dangerously drinkable, so keep scrolling if you want in on the secret.

I can’t stop making this Strawberry Sangria every time strawberries show up. I adore the way fresh strawberries float and bleed pink into a bottle of dry white wine, like Sauvignon Blanc, turning it bright and drinkable.
I’m obsessed with how simple it looks but tastes like a party. But the best part is serving it as a Sangria Punch so friends keep circling back for more.
I find it fruity, fizzy when I want, and dangerously easy to sip all afternoon. I love that it feels like summer in a glass without trying too hard.
I want another sip.
Ingredients

- Basically the bright backbone, crisp acidity and white-fruit notes that keep it refreshing.
- Plus juicy strawberries add sweetness, pop of color, and little fruit chunks to nibble.
- Orange slices give sunny citrus zip, aromatic oils, and pretty wheels in the pitcher.
- Basically orange liqueur lends boozy citrus warmth, complexity and a candy-like edge.
- Plus brandy (optional) adds warm oakiness and a grown-up depth you’ll notice.
- Sugar or syrup smooths harsh edges, balances tartness, and keeps it pleasantly sweet.
- Club soda gives fizz, refreshing lift, softer finish, and keeps sangria from feeling heavy.
Ingredient Quantities
- 1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine, like Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced (you’ll want ’em juicy)
- 1 orange, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup orange liqueur, like Cointreau or Triple Sec
- 1/4 cup brandy (optional, but it gives it more depth)
- 1/4 cup simple syrup or 2 to 3 tablespoons granulated sugar, to taste
- 1 cup club soda or sparkling water, chilled for a little fizz
How to Make this
1. Wash and hull 1 cup strawberries, slice them thin, then put them in a large pitcher with 1/4 cup simple syrup or 2 to 3 tablespoons granulated sugar; mash them a little with a spoon to help release juices, it dont have to be perfect.
2. Add 1 orange, thinly sliced, into the pitcher with the strawberries so the citrus flavors mingle.
3. Pour in 1/2 cup orange liqueur like Cointreau and 1/4 cup brandy if you want more depth; the brandy is optional but i like it.
4. Pour the whole bottle (750 ml) of dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, over the fruit and spirits.
5. Stir everything gently to combine and dissolve any sugar that might still be gritty.
6. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably 2 to 4 hours, so the fruit infuses the wine; longer = more flavor but dont go more than 12 hours.
7. Right before serving add 1 cup chilled club soda or sparkling water for a little fizz, stir gently to keep bubbles.
8. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed, add a little more simple syrup or sugar a teaspoon at a time, mixing until you like it.
9. Serve over ice in glasses, making sure to spoon some fruit into each glass, and garnish with extra strawberry or orange slices if you want.
Equipment Needed
1. Large pitcher (at least 2 quart)
2. Cutting board
3. Sharp knife for slicing strawberries and orange
4. Measuring cups and spoons (1/2 cup, 1/4 cup, teaspoon)
5. Wooden spoon or muddler to mash the fruit a bit

8. Glasses and ice (and a scoop or tongs if you like)
FAQ
Strawberry Sangria Recipe Substitutions and Variations
- Dry white wine (Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio): substitute with a dry rosé for fruitier notes, or a light unoaked Chardonnay if you want body, or for a low alcohol option use white grape juice mixed half and half with water.
- Orange liqueur (Cointreau or Triple Sec): swap with peach schnapps for a sweeter fruitier bend, or use 1/4 cup fresh orange juice plus 1 tablespoon sugar if you dont have liqueur.
- Brandy (optional): replace with 1/4 cup dark rum for caramel warmth, or use 1/4 cup apple brandy or apple cider for a fruitier depth.
- Club soda or sparkling water: use ginger ale for spice and sweetness, or try lemon-lime soda for more citrus punch, or prosecco for extra bubbles and wine-y complexity.
Pro Tips
1) Macerate the strawberries well with the sugar so they give up lots of juice. Smash them a bit with the back of a spoon, then let them sit in the fridge 1 to 4 hours. The longer they sit the more flavor but don’t leave them all day or the fruit gets mushy.
2) Use a crisp, chilled white wine and chill everything first. A warmer wine hides the bright fruit notes, so pop the bottle in the fridge ahead of time. If you only have room temp wine, chill the pitcher in the fridge after mixing for at least an hour before serving.
3) Add the sparkling water right before serving and stir very gently. If you add it early or stir hard you lose the bubbles. Also, if you plan to serve over ice, expect the drink to dilute fast so make it slightly stronger or sweeter than you think you need.
4) Taste and tweak in small steps. If it’s too tart add a teaspoon or two of simple syrup at a time, if it’s too sweet squeeze in a little fresh lemon or orange juice. Brandy deepens the flavor without adding sweetness, while extra orange liqueur adds orange punch, so adjust based on what you want.
